Water Injection

The initial shelters developed by FRP/Mocoat in the 1970’s were initially used for water injection/disposal wells used in conventional oilfields in Western Canada. Oil and gas producers were looking for an economical, durable product that would resist internal and external corrosion and stand-up to harsh Canadian winters.  At that time, we used our 8 ft. tank moulds in order to construct the shelters.  Once the oil & gas producers accepted our shelter as the “standard”, we developed custom moulds which enabled features for our customers such as one-piece moulded construction, double-walled construction with encapsulated urethane foam, and a slight taper to allow nesting of as many 20 shelters on a single truck.
This transportation advantage allowed us to be competitive in areas a long ways from Calgary, Alberta. Over the years, customers have our shelters in service from the North Slope of Alaska to Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas and Illinois.
Over the years, water injection has evolved. Many applications now involve process equipment of various complexity, some of which have to be serviced regularly.
Our buildings and shelters have evolved to meet this requirement. Whether the application calls for a 30 or 40 ft. long building, or removable ends or roll-up doors to easily access equipment, or heaters and electrical, FRP/Mocoat has an option for your consideration.
